South Lincolnshire Food Enterprise Zone – Principle Contractor Success

Tender Success

KCC are pleased to announce our Principle Contractor Success at the new South Lincolnshire Food Enterprise Zone in Holbeach. KCC will be tendering the new site for Holbeach-based business AJS Control & Automation.

AJS have purchased a plot covering just over 0.6 acres to build a two-storey office, research and development facility. It also includes their workshop premises covering just over 12,905 square feet.

KCC are extremely grateful to be one of the first companies to be able to work on the new site. The SLFEZ offers so much for local, national and multi-national firms at the forefront of the agri-food and technology sector.

Other occupiers of the SLFEZ include the University of Lincoln’s National Centre for Food Manufacturing’s Agri-Food Centre of Excellence and Institute of Technology. In addition to Lincolnshire County Council’s purpose-built, high quality business space, The Hub.

The  SLFEZ is positioned to the west of Holbeach in the south of the county, and is located at the intersection of the A17/A151. Only eight miles from Spalding and 24 miles from Peterborough which provides a direct train route to London in 46 minutes.

South Lincolnshire sits at the heart of a global food processing cluster. This stretches across Eastern England from Norfolk and Suffolk, through the low lying and productive fens of Peterborough, Cambridgeshire; and into the higher arable heartlands of Lincolnshire and inland into the East Midlands. The SLFEZ is ideally positioned in the centre of this cluster and is rapidly developing the reputation of being the UK’s Food Valley.

Works are set to start on the plot at the start of July 2022. We will post updates at every key moment during the development of the site.
